First-visit itinerary Seven days
A week in Dubai.
Let the days breathe.
A flexible week-long framework for seeing more of the city without turning every day into a checklist.
The short answer
Use a week to explore one area or main experience per day, then keep a couple of days adaptable. This framework separates Old Dubai, Downtown, the coast and a desert experience, with indoor and flexible days to suit your group.
The sequence is not tied to particular dates. Check current opening times, event schedules, transport and booking terms before deciding which day to use for each plan.
Shorter stay? Browse our two-day, three-day and five-day itineraries.
Day 1 · Old Dubai
Start with a heritage area and the Creek.
Choose a neighbourhood, museum or heritage experience that interests you. Leave time for a meal and a relaxed walk. If you want to cross or travel by water, check the exact RTA marine service and operating details rather than assuming a sightseeing boat is public transport.
Our city-tour guide can help you compare guided and self-guided options.
Day 2 · Downtown
Pick one major timed attraction.
If Burj Khalifa is on your list, compare ticket levels and confirm the official entry terms. Give the visit a generous buffer for walking, queues, security, meals and any other nearby stop.
See which Burj Khalifa level to choose, and check the transport guide for route planning.
Day 3 · Coast and Marina
Choose a coastal day that fits your pace.
Plan around a beach, a walk or one booked water experience. Verify access, route, departure point, duration, total price and cancellation terms for any cruise or charter before building the rest of the day around it.
Compare a dhow cruise with the questions to ask before a private yacht charter.
Day 4 · Desert
Give the experience its own day.
Check how much of the day the chosen safari uses, including pickup and return, and confirm activities, meals, age or mobility restrictions and cancellation details. Keep fixed plans around it light unless the operator confirms the timing.
Start with our desert safari format comparison.
Day 5 · Indoor choice
Pick one indoor attraction or a slower day.
Choose a museum, family attraction, shopping area or another indoor activity that suits your group. Verify current opening hours, timed entry, age policies, accessibility and total visit time directly with the venue.
Visit Dubai’s places-to-visit guide for ideas, then check the attraction’s own information before you book.
Day 6 · Your choice
Use the day for the thing you came for.
Return to a favourite neighbourhood, choose a second major attraction, arrange a day trip or simply take a break. For plans outside the city, verify the full door-to-door journey, border or entry requirements where relevant, and the provider’s schedule before committing.
If your interests have changed, use our area guide and three-day itinerary to regroup the remaining plans.
Day 7 · Flexible finish
Keep the final day kind to your departure.
If you are flying out, plan around the confirmed check-out time, luggage storage, airport journey and flight check-in guidance. Avoid placing a non-refundable, far-away activity close to departure. If you have the full day, leave it open for a favourite revisit or a restful finish.

Before you lock it in
Keep the week adaptable.
- Group plans by area and check the actual door-to-door route.
- Verify attraction hours, ticket rules and availability for your dates.
- Leave a buffer around tours, airport transfers and timed entry.
- Use an indoor alternative for heat, rain or a change in energy.
- Check event and holiday announcements for transport or access changes.
- Keep at least one block free rather than booking every hour.
