Family trip planning Dubai

Dubai with children.
Plan for your family, not a checklist.

Choose one or two experiences that fit your children’s ages, interests and energy, then check the rules that apply to your exact visit.

The short version

Start with your children’s ages, interests, comfort with heat or water, and the pace your family prefers. Check restrictions on the official venue page before buying tickets, allow for travel and rest, and avoid planning several far-apart attractions into one day.

We have not visited these venues as a family and do not claim first-hand family experience. Policies below are taken from official visitor information available on October 31, 2026; reconfirm all details for your date and group.

Start with your group

Choose the day your children can enjoy.

Young children

Prioritize a shorter visit, convenient breaks and a simple route. Check the venue’s child supervision, stroller and bag rules; do not assume all areas have the same access conditions.

School-age children

Let the children’s interests shape the main activity, but verify age, height and accompaniment rules for specific attractions before buying a group ticket.

Mixed ages

Compare what each person can actually access. A venue may admit all ages while restricting individual rides or activities by height, swimming ability or adult accompaniment.

For a slower planning start, use the where-to-stay guide to compare areas against your daily plans, then shortlist options with the stay-area quiz.

Use official policies, not assumptions

Check the rules for each person and activity.

Dubai Frame

The venue’s visitor rules say children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. It also says large bags and strollers are kept at the Gate 4 counter. Confirm current entry and storage arrangements before setting out. Read the Dubai Frame guide.

Aquaventure World

Some rides have minimum height requirements; the park’s guidance notes that certain rides require guests to be at least 1.2 metres tall. Ride rules can differ, and some attractions are intended for strong swimmers. Check each ride’s current restrictions and supervision advice. Read the Aquaventure guide.

Every other venue

Check its current age and height restrictions, supervision conditions, stroller access, facilities, ticket requirements and cancellation terms directly. Admission does not guarantee access to every activity.

Policies can change; the linked guides include the official source pages used for these checks. If an access requirement matters to your family, contact the venue before booking.

Reduce avoidable friction

Plan the journey and the breaks too.

  • Check the exact entrance, parking or public-transport stop, walking distance and return route—not just the venue’s neighbourhood.
  • Use the RTA Journey Planner for current public transport options and recheck schedules on the day.
  • Confirm whether food, drinks, lockers, strollers or child-care items are permitted and whether facilities are available at your chosen venue.
  • Build in water, shade or indoor breaks as appropriate to the activity and current conditions; follow venue safety instructions.
  • For accessibility, medical or sensory needs, ask the venue about its specific facilities and accommodations before purchasing tickets.

Our transport guide compares Metro, taxi and pre-arranged chauffeur options. Confirm provider terms and live routes before travel.

An adaptable pattern

One anchor activity is enough.

  1. Before the day: confirm the ticket, opening hours, entry rules, route and one nearby meal or break option.
  2. Start: travel to the main activity with enough time for entry and a calm beginning.
  3. Middle: take a proper break. Add a second nearby stop only if everyone still has the energy and the schedule allows.
  4. Return: plan the journey back and keep an earlier exit as a valid option.

For a sample trip structure, adapt the three-day Dubai itinerary around your children’s pace rather than trying to complete every listed idea.

Before you book

Make a quick family-specific check.

  • Does each child meet the age, height, swimming or adult-accompaniment rules for the activity?
  • Are stroller, bag, food and drink policies clear?
  • Can your group manage the transport, walking and total time on site?
  • Have you checked current opening hours, final ticket terms and cancellation conditions?
  • Have you contacted the venue about any accessibility, medical or sensory needs?

Use your own estimates in the Dubai trip budget calculator; it does not supply or store sample family prices.
